How It Works
Deposit · Mix · Receive clean coins
Northmix is a Bitcoin mixer and crypto tumbler that breaks the on-chain link between your deposit and your payout. The workflow is intentionally short: you tell the service where to send the cleaned coins, you send the original coins to a one-time deposit address, and the service pays out from a separate output pool. No account, no email, no identity. The whole flow runs from the app in three steps.
The mixing process
The mixing process is built around three ordered steps. Each step is visible in the interface, and the service fee is shown on its own line before you confirm anything.
- Enter a payout wallet. You provide the destination address where you want the mixed coins to arrive. This address should be fresh and unrelated to your deposit wallet so the output cannot be linked back to the input.
- Send coins to the deposit address. Northmix generates a one-time deposit address for the asset and network you selected. You send your coins there from any external wallet. After the deposit confirms on-chain, you submit the public transaction hash so the service can verify it.
- Receive clean coins. Once verification completes, Northmix pays out from its output pool to your payout wallet. The coins you receive did not come from your deposit address, so the on-chain link between input and output is broken.
The full lifecycle of a transaction intent is documented in the technical documentation, including the verification states and the wallet adapter contract.
Rounds and delay
Two parameters control how strongly Northmix separates your output from your input: rounds and delay.
- Rounds (1–5). A round is one full mix cycle. One round breaks the direct link between deposit and payout. More rounds push the output further from the input through additional pool hops, increasing separation at the cost of a longer total flow. Most users pick one or two rounds; the maximum of five is for users who want maximum separation.
- Delay (0–72 hours). Delay is the time between the deposit confirming and the payout being broadcast. A non-zero delay makes time-based correlation between input and output much harder. A zero delay is fastest but offers the weakest protection against timing analysis.
Rounds and delay are independent. You can pick one round with a 12-hour delay, or five rounds with zero delay. The combination you choose is a trade-off between speed and the degree of unlinkability. See the fees page for how the fee you set is applied regardless of the rounds and delay you select.
Which assets are supported
Northmix supports eight assets across twelve networks. You can mix Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Litecoin (LTC), Solana (SOL) and BNB. Each asset is bound to one or more supported networks, and tokens that share a ticker on different networks are not interchangeable. The full catalog, including decimals and supported networks, is on the supported assets page.
The Bitcoin mixer is the most-used path and is covered in detail on the Bitcoin mixer page. For multi-asset mixing across BTC, ETH and SOL, see the crypto tumbler page.
No KYC, no logs
Northmix does not require KYC. There is no sign-up, no email, no identity check. Northmix never requests seed phrases or private keys and actively refuses input that looks like one. The only data Northmix handles in memory is the selected asset and network, the amount, the public transaction hash, the public transaction reference, and the public payout address.
Northmix does not write wallet information to browser storage, sessionStorage or cookies. Outbound explorer links open with rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" and the referrer is suppressed. The full data handling breakdown is on the privacy page, and the operational security model is on the security page.
